First is SVP that is our main orphanage that we go to. Its a baby orphanage. It consists of sala uno, sala dos, and sala tres. Sala uno consists of newborns to 6 months of age. There is 5 babies in there.. all girls except one boy. In sala uno we basically feed, change, put in a different position, or just love them. We can´t hold them too much cause the workers don´t want the babies to get too attatched and used to being held but everyonce in a while, and of course when feeding and burbing. WE also do therapies with the older babies, just to get there muscles going. And we play with them of course. They are all very cute.
Next is Sala dos the ages of these ninos(kids) are about 7 months to a year. There is about 7 kids i think and all girls. My favorite is a little black girl named susanna oooo i just squeeze her everytime. Anyways there all adorable. So basically there learning to crawl and walk. WE interact alot with these kids since there in a very important stage. There is a room especially for them where there is bouncers lots of toys etc. We also do therapies with them like working there back muscles and legs, and working on there walking. We take them outside in a little covered patio where they can play as well. Sopa is soup and we feed them that everyday. Ecuadorians feed kids alot and make them eat everything... so this gets a little frustrating cause most kids HATE eating, but there are a couple ones that are good.
Last is Sala tres. The ages of these kids are 1 to 2 years of age. In this sala there are about 13 kids and there crazy!!!! In this sala we play play play, there is a field outside that we go to and a playground thing. WE also take them on walks to other places like a little park or even just a parking lot. They also have a room to play in but they don´t do well playing inside all the time. These kids also need discipline, they are crazy and love to kill eachother!! It gets hard and sometimes you wanna just wring there neck... but we never do cause there still adorable!! We also feed these guys sopa and it sucks.. its super hard and sometimes the workers just take them from you because they can feed them better and personally i like when they do cause it is HARD. Like one time i was feeding Fransisco or Franky haha and he is huge!! Anyways i had a small spoon and wasn´t filling it very much and fast. So he threw a tantrum i had no idea what his deal was, so another girl settled him down and told me to use a bigger spoon and bigger spoonfulls and faster because the way the culture is he feels like he´s not getting enough food and fast enough. I thought that was kindof interesting funny. Franky is the biggest chunk ever and he just waddles around. We change there diapers, and there just the normal diapers we use. There fun little buggers to be around and some of there backgrounds are really rough, but they are the happiest kids ever ( besides when there beating eachother up).
So thats SVP and its a blast to be with these kids but it is nice to go to other places like...
SL, SL is basically an apt complex run by nuns. There are about 5 different "families" that are taken care of by "moms". What we do is go play or do different activities with these families for about 20 minutes each. Some of these kids are brothers and sisters. And they range in age. We only go there about 3 times a week and not everybody goes.. we trade off. I love SL, and the kids are adorable!! Gabby is my all time fav... ugh she has the cutest smile and just laughs all the time. I think shes´about two years old.. shes just a little runt! And she gives me pesos which is kisses i love it!!
Another main site we go to is SKG´S & SKB´S which is special kids boys and special kids girls. I would love to tell you about that site... but i haven´t been there yet, so i will be sure to tell you about it when i go.
So those are the main sites or orphanages we do. They are a blast and i´m learning spanish more and more everyday. Its fun and i love the kids here!! There have the cutest personalities and are just rambunctious!!
Field trip to otavolo!!! So basically this was a blast!! The place was beautiful!! It was about 2 hours away from Quito and its a huge huge shopping market where you can just bargain bargain bargain. I loved it!! There was sooo much it was crazy!! So on the way there we stopped at this gas station that has places to take pictures of the scenery cause its gorgeous, and there was even llamas by this lady you pay to take pictures with!! I gave the lady two dollars and she loved me!! i felt good about it. So i got pictures with the llamas!! haha they are the funniest animals, i also pet some really cute puppies this lady had oh they were adorable. That was like my favorite part ever.. i also bought kinder chocolate!!! oh my it was amazing!! Anyways besides otavolo we went to this place that has all kinds of carving temples and a bunch of different homemade wood LDS stuff it was amazing. There was this lady when we got out of the bus that greeted us!! She´s there every time i guess and we took pictures with us... she was hilarious she couldn´t really talk and didn´t have much teeth haha but she was cute. WE all gave her money and took pictures and she loved us. AFter everything we went to this place to eat.. it was definitelydifferent... it was pork and potatoes and some wierd corn stuff but it was ok. And that was our field trip!! It was ablast!! I loved the shopping .. i got alot of stuff!! BArgaining is great! Anyways thats basically it for now. Excuse my bad grammer... i´m being lazy!! Love you all!! Ciao ciao!

It sounds like you are doing great. . .I didn't read one word about bugs!I have a client whos granddaughter did this same thing, she said that her granddaughter loved it and ended up staying for 6 months. She said it was hard for her to leave and that she wanted to bring home two of her favorite orphans. She also mentioned that her granddaughter brought home a lot of jewelery and other bargain items. After reading your blog, it sounds like you might come home with a few extra items as well.(hopefully jewelery and not kids)You are a great person and I am sure you are making a big difference in the lives of those children you serve. Keep up the good work and have fun! We love you and miss seeing you(one of us probably more than the others)our prayers are with you, Good Luck!
